Ms Lilia Carpinelli MMus (1st Hons), GradDip Tchg (Secondary), PGrad (Singing)
Lilia studied at the Conservatorio di Musica Giuseppe Martucci Salerno (Italy) and the University of Auckland, holding a Master of Music in Classical Singing. As an active solo performer, Lilia continues to captivate audiences with her lyric coloratura soprano voice, performing internationally with orchestras in Italy, Austria, China, Israel, and Palestine, and nationally with New Zealand's leading musical ensembles. Her operatic repertoire includes Puccini's heroines, which she particularly enjoys bringing to life. Lilia has been a New Zealand Opera Freemasons Resident Artist and member of the NBR Chapman Opera Chorus for over 10 years.
With over 20 years of experience as a voice specialist, Italian language coach and choral director, Lilia has taught singing styles to adults and children of all ages and abilities. She currently works as an itinerant singing teacher and choir director at Baradene College, Sacred Heart College, Onehunga High School and privately.
Lilia is passionate about nurturing a lifelong love of singing and music. She cultivates inclusive, supportive environment where singers can grow, exploring techniques, languages, and repertoire in an engaging and accessible way.
Lilia is in regular demand in NZ and abroad as a soprano soloist, teacher, Italian language coach, choir director, adjudicator and clinician.
